Handloom is the traditional industry of textile manufacturing in India, in which hand and foot-operated machines are used to make attractive garments., In Warp & Weft (Taana-Baana) threads are so beautifully arranged by using the skill.  This technique was a means of livelihood for lakhs of families and they contributed their part by using their skill in the progressive development of the nation since long back.

Due to many reasons like increasing mechanization, inclination towards other employment opportunities, and escapist culture, the Handloom sector has arrived at the verge of extinction.

The need for revitalization of this industry is being felt today for strengthening the rural economy and inculcating a sense of self-reliance under the self-reliant India campaign (Aatmnirbhar Bharat Abhiyan).

Working on the aim of self-sufficiency & providing respectful employment in villages itself & to stop the concept of elopement we get the inspiration of Jainacharya  Shree Vidhyasagar Ji Maharaj and the holy blessings of Muni Pungav Shree Sudhasagar Ji Maharaj & we started "Acharya Vidyasagar Handloom Training and  Production Centre, Anwa" in 2016 at "Anwa" a town situated in Tonk District of Rajasthan.  Here at our center, the youth of rural areas are imparted skills by giving them training in handloom. After that, trained weavers efficiently produce handmade products using their mastership. Attractive ready products at this center are sold under the name of "Vidyashish Hathkargha, Aanwa".  This is the first and only center in Rajasthan to develop handloom mastership and create a skilled labor force by providing handloom training.

We at "Vidhyashish Hathkargha" provide completely free Initial  2 months training is at our center and also give a minimum amount as a mark of respect to their painstaking during this training period.  Our main goal is to respect the work by stopping.  Many youths who have migrated to the cities, inspired by this project of self-reliance, have returned to the village and regaining their confidence and playing their positive role towards the family, society, and village.

This center also has the distinction of receiving the "State Weavers Award" by the Government of Rajasthan in 2019 for cotton sarees made here within just 2 years of establishment.  Apart from this, the weavers both male & female here have also been awarded a district-level weaver award.

Vidyasish Handloom aims to identify the potential of the youth of rural areas and make them proficient in all aspects of handloom such as warping/wefting,  weaving, handicraft,  knowledge, and repair of handloom tools, thread knowledge, quality control, etc.  This young generation will be able to take this art to maximum people in their coming life.

We, through Vidhyashish Hathkargha, have trained about 45 youths in handloom within a short span of just 5 years.  These brothers & sisters are now earning their livelihood by becoming self-supporting, self-sufficient and are also spreading the importance of skill & Handloom to the people.
