Village Anwa is situated in Tehsil Deoli district Tonk, Rajasthan. 4-5 years ago, a Jain family motivated by their Guruji Shri Vidhyasagar Maharaj started handloom weaving & produced plain fabrics, dress material, etc. Some Scheduled caste weavers also trained & started their handloom journey along with them.

Weavers Service Centre, Jaipur has introduced “ANWA SAREE” during a 45 days skill up-gradation camp organized under Samarth Scheme of DC (HL), Ministry of Textile, GOI. 20 Weavers were trained in the Dobby mechanism and jala technique to enable them to produce intricate designs on Saree & Silk Dupatta.

The unique characteristic of “ANWA SAREE” is the extra unique stripe effect on its running length, having an intricate design made from Dobby/Jala technique. Six beautiful mixed colored stripes of one inch each with dobby butty work differentiate it from other sarees. Dobby Zari butty work also done in border. Overall Small extra weft “butti” work with Zala technique makes it attractive. Natural raw material, cotton 2/80s yarn is used in warp and weft. Cotton is available/grown in Rajasthan, which gives the whole fabric a Rajasthani touch.
